About Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine developed by the German Physician and scientist, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in 1856. It is a Science which has been existing and growing world wide from last 200 years.
Homeopathic treatment aims to stimulate and direct the body’s self healing capacity by triggering a reaction. The body reacts to stimuli, which have physiological effects( drugs and toxins) by attempting to maintain homeostasis ( stable internal environment). Homeopathy makes therapeutic use of this effect.
Homeopathic medicines are prescribed according to a law known as the “Law of Similars, Sometimes expressed as like cures like”. This law allows homeopaths to correct symptoms of ill-health with substances that produce similar symptoms when tested on a healthy person.
The medicine cure diseases only because they can produce similar symptoms in healthy individuals.
Homeopathic medicines are being proved on healthy individuals. Both Mental as well as physical symptoms are recorded while proving medicine. More than 2000 remedies are being used by homeopaths in clinics for the treatment of diseases.

Making Homeopathy Medicines
Homeopathic Medicines are prepared from Plants, Animals and Minerals and are extremely diluted.
Homeopathic medicines are made by diluting a medicinal substance in a double distilled water. Each substance is diluted, most commonly 1 part of the original medicinal agent to 9 or 99 parts double distilled water.
The mixture is then vigorously shaken. The solution is then again diluted 1:9 or 1:99 and vigorously shaken.
This process of consecutive diluting and shaking is repeated 3, 6, 12, 30, 200, 1000 or more…
Thus Homeopathic medicines are “potentized” (the process of sequential dilution with vigorous shaking in between each dilution). In homeopathy, a solution that is more dilute is described as having a higher potency. More diluted substance are considered by homeopaths to be stronger and deep acting.
30C and below are called as low potencies and 200 is called as moderate potency. 1M and above are called as Higher potencies.
How Homeopathy works
Homeopathic medicines are diluted to the point where no original molecule is present in the medicine. Lot of research work is being carried out and here is some research on it.
One of the leading current proposals points that water is capable of storing information relating to substances with which it has been in contact. The Swiss chemist, Louis Rey, found that structure of Hydrogen bonds in Homeopathic medicine is different from that of pure water. Many recent researches are pointing that water has a “memory” and it has a structure.
Another noble prize winning scientist, emeritus professor of Cambridge University, Dr. Brian Josephson wrote this response to an article about Homeopathy in New Scientist. “Regarding your comments on claims made for Homeopathy criticisms centered around the vanishingly small number of solute molecules present in a solution after it has been repeatedly diluted are beside the point, since advocates of Homeopathic remedies attribute their effects not to molecules present in the water, but to modifications of the water’s structure. “Simple-minded analysis may suggest that water, being a fluid, cannot have a structure of the kind that such a picture would demand. But cases such as that liquid crystals, which while flowing like an ordinary fluid can maintain an ordered structure over macroscopic distances, show the limitations of such ways of thinking. There have not, to the best of my knowledge, been any refutations of homeopathy that remain valid after this particular point is taken into account.
Also, a group of highly respected scientist have confirmed that the vigorous sharing involved with making homeopathic medicines changes the pressure in the water. These scientist have shown how the homeopathic process of using double distilled water and then diluting and shaking the medicine in a sequential fashion changes the structure of water.
